The Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein, held a fruitful meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Algeria to Somalia, Mr. Mohamed Alim, focusing on strengthening relations and cooperation between the two capitals, Mogadishu and Algiers.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and establish an effective program that both sides can work on jointly. They also specifically reviewed opportunities for upgrading staff skills, exchanging expertise and knowledge, and how the capital Mogadishu could benefit from Algeria’s experience.
During the meeting, Ambassador Alim conveyed an official invitation to Governor Dr. Mungaab from the Mayor of Algiers, Mr. Mohamed Abdenour Rabhi, inviting the Governor to pay an official visit to Algeria.
The Governor of Banadir Region thanked the Ambassador for his efforts in strengthening Somalia-Algeria relations, and also commended Algeria’s role in the development and restoration of the capital Mogadishu.
