The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, held a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, Hon. Mussa Azzam Zungu, in the city of Arusha, Tanzania, where they discussed strengthening relations and cooperation between the two parliaments.
The meeting specifically focused on strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries, exchanging expertise and experience in legislation, and ways to further develop Somalia-Tanzania cooperation on matters of common interest.
The two Speakers also discussed the importance of strengthening the historical relations between Somalia and Tanzania, enhancing diplomatic cooperation, and supporting efforts to strengthen peace, stability, and integration among the countries of the East African region.
The meeting was also attended by members of the delegation led by the Speaker of the House of the People and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Tanzania, with both sides emphasizing the importance of further strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of parliamentary affairs, diplomacy, and regional development.
