Members of the Somali Federal Parliament approved the election in their joint session today on Saturday, after passing the Law establishing the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, and the Law of Political Parties last week.
Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament, Sheikh Aden M. Nur Madobe said that 172 members attended the session and 169 mps voted in favor of the law while two members rejected and one abstained.

He commended the parliamentarians for passing those key laws, enabling the implementation of holding one person, one vote elections in the country.
