Somali Defense Minister Visits Frontline Troops, Vows Sustained Offensive Against Al-Shabaab.

Somalia’s Minister of Defense, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, and Chief of Defense Forces Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud visited frontline troops in Wargadhi, in Middle Shabelle, where they reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustaining military operations against Al-Shabaab.

Fiqi praised the troops for their courage, discipline, and recent battlefield gains, calling for intensified operations until all remaining militant strongholds are liberated. He also pledged continued government support to strengthen the armed forces’ combat readiness.

The Army Chief commended the forces’ operational preparedness and urged close coordination among military units, saying the offensive would continue under established operational plans until Al-Shabaab is eliminated from its remaining areas of activity.

The visit is part of an ongoing tour of frontline positions in the Galgadud and Middle Shabelle regions to assess military operations and boost troop morale.
