The Council of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia, in an extraordinary meeting held today, approved the appointment of Hussein Qasim Yusuf as Director-General of the Immigration and Nationality Agency, following a proposal by the Ministry of Internal Security.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, also reviewed security updates and ongoing military operations by the Somali National Armed Forces against Al-Shabaab militants, as well as matters related to environmental protection and nationwide tree-planting efforts.
The Council further endorsed the General Amnesty Regulation, submitted by the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
In addition, the Cabinet promoted Noor Mahmoud Sheikh to the rank of Ambassador upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
