The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Saturday opened the Somalia Development Financing Conference in Mogadishu, hosted by the Somalia Development and Reconstruction Bank (SDRB).
The conference brought together government officials, business leaders, private-sector company executives and development partners to discuss Somalia’s development financing opportunities and needs, with a particular focus on supporting the country’s transition from recovery to sustainable economic growth.
H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said the Federal Government is prioritising sustainable development financing, increasing domestic production and strengthening the role of the private sector to create jobs and promote sustainable economic growth.
The President said Somalia’s National Vision 2060 provides a long-term direction towards a growing economy and sustainable development, requiring strategic investment in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, energy, infrastructure and businesses.
