Ministry of Public Works and UNOPS Sign Agreement for Baidoa Drainage Development.

The Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction, and Housing of Somalia, represented by Minister Dr. Elmi Mohamud Noor, has signed an agreement with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). The agreement marks the beginning of a comprehensive 15-month program focused on assessing and designing an efficient drainage system for Baidoa city.

The project aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of engineers from the Ministry and state governments, ensuring the development of high-quality infrastructure. This initiative is expected to address the pressing need for a robust drainage system in Baidoa, contributing to the city’s resilience against flooding and other water-related issues.
