Radio Balcad is an independent radio based in Balcad town within the Middle Shabelle region of Hirshabelle State of Somalia. Launched in 2014, Radio Balcad FM operates on 87.9 MHZ and has its own website www.radiobalcad.com.

The primary goal of the station is to serve the entire Somali-speaking community in the local region, Somalia, and the Horn of Africa. The radio station’s core focus is to educate, entertain, and inform the local community and people of Somalia with accurate and truth-based news.

Its daily and weekly programs cover a wide array of topics including entertainment, peace, culture, education, health, sports, economy, and politics. Notably, Radio Balcad remains independent and is not affiliated with any specific group within the country, whether political or religious.

The intended target audience includes individuals within the Hirshabelle State of Somalia, particularly those within the Middle Shabelle and Hiran regions.

Moreover, Radio Balcad, with steadfast determination, aims to broaden its listening audience to encompass the entirety of the country in the near future.
