The Acting Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama, officially closed the National Conference on Weapons and Ammunition Management and Countering Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), which concluded today after two days of discussions in Mogadishu.
In his closing remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Jama emphasized that effective management of weapons and ammunition is a cornerstone of national security. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment—under the DanQaran administration—to strengthening policies and technical measures aimed at curbing the proliferation of illegal arms and countering the use of IEDs that threaten the country’s stability.
The conference focused on accelerating the implementation of the National Weapons and Ammunition Management Plan, enhancing the operational capacity of security agencies engaged in counter-IED efforts, and improving coordination between national institutions at all levels and international partners supporting Somalia’s security sector reform.
