The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) held a public forum in Mogadishu focused on building public trust and raising awareness of national identification services.
The forum was officially opened by NIRA Deputy Director-General Abdirahman Said Ahmed, with participants discussing challenges related to public awareness and access to NIRA services and proposing measures to improve the delivery of national identification information and services.
NIRA also highlighted progress in the national identification programme, reporting that more than 1.5 million Somalis have been registered both inside and outside the country.
