The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ali Omar held a series of bilateral meetings with senior Arab and regional officials on the sidelines of the Arab League Ministerial Meeting in Amman, Jordan, aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and enhancing cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
The State Minister met with Qatar’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, where the two sides exchanged views on regional developments and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Somalia and Qatar.
He also held talks with Djibouti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulkader Houssein Omar. The meeting focused on the longstanding brotherly relations between the two neighboring countries and opportunities to deepen collaboration across key sectors.
In a separate meeting, the State Minister met with Mauritania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug. The two officials reaffirmed the strong partnership between Somalia and Mauritania and underscored their shared commitment to continued coordination at the bilateral, Arab League, African Union and multilateral levels in support of regional peace, stability and prosperity.
The meetings reflected Somalia’s ongoing diplomatic engagement with partner countries and its commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and advancing common interests within Arab, African and international forums.
