Prime Minister Hamza receives a delegation from the government of Türkiye.

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, received a delegation from the Government of Türkiye at his office, led by the Director General for Africa at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ali Onaner, accompanied by the Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Ambassador Alper Aktaş.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Türkiye, with particular emphasis on cooperation in security and counterterrorism efforts aimed at ensuring stability in Somalia and the wider region.

Prime Minister Hamza expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Türkiye for their unwavering support to Somalia, noting that Türkiye is a strategic partner that has played a significant role in supporting Somalia’s security, as well as safeguarding its unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

For his part, Ambassador Ali Onaner thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and reaffirmed Türkiye’s continued commitment to standing alongside the Somali government and people, while further enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
