Somalia, Tanzania sign visa facilitation agreement.

Today marks a major milestone for Somalia-Tanzania relations with the signing of the Immigration MoU, including visa-free and visa-on-arrival arrangements. This reflects the growing partnership, trust, and strong bilateral relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the United Republic of Tanzania.

The MoU signed between Somalia and Tanzania is on migration management. Visa-free travel for diplomats and government officials; regular passport holders get entry within 24h. Strengthening ties in diplomacy, security and trade.

This step will also promote tourism, investment, education exchange, and business mobility, while strengthening institutional cooperation and enhancing people-to-people connections between our two countries. Soon, we will also implement the direct flights between Somalia and Tanzania that were agreed upon last year, which will further deepen economic and social ties between our nations.

Somalia deeply values Tanzania’s continued partnership, solidarity, and leadership in advancing regional cooperation and stability. We remain committed to strengthening collaboration in security, trade, investment, aviation, and people-to-people engagement for the mutual benefit of our two countries and our peoples.
