The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, today held a meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, Amb. Wang Yu.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors, the achievements made by the Somali Armed Forces on the frontlines of the fight against terrorism, and the role of Somalia’s international partners in supporting and enhancing the capabilities of the Somali National Army.
The two sides also discussed the importance of Somalia’s stability for peace and overall security in the Horn of Africa.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister extended his congratulations to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China, particularly the Chinese Embassy in Somalia, on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.
